           There are a lot of maners in Belarus.If you want to be a good and polite person you should learn some of them.

• It is a very good maners to say "please" and "sorry" a lot.                                                                        
• It is very rude to asking lady about her age. 

 

• Usually people avoid talking loudly in public.                                                                                           
• If you will come to Belarus you shouldn't backslaping everyone who you will meet.Because it is only for close friends and some relatives.
• But people also shake hands when they are metting,                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
• It is realy bad not to say "hello" when you come into somebody's house.    
• If you decide to visit  some event  and your phone is ring say "sorry" and off your phone.But if is imortant for you, you can go on.    
• 
• It is bad to finger point at something or somebody
• It is very rude to pour the water on  the people if you are in car.Their clothes will be dirty.

               About present's and gives

• Usually,people do not talking about presenet that they give. Even if somebody will ask you for it ,you shouldnt, because it should be secret for everyone.      
• It will be strange if you will convey some presents.
• If you decided to give flowers,you must know, that in Belarus you shold give only an odd number of flowers.

Some rules of the shops, theaters and museums

• Leave your dog or bike near the shop.
• Do not toch exhibits in the museums.
• You should talking quietly in the shops,theaters and museums.

In Belarus there are a lot of traditional superstitions .But not all people believe in them.Some people say that it'sartifice,other people say that it's true and some people don't understand believe in superstitions or not because they work, but not always.

In Belarus there are good  and bad superstitions.The worst superstition it's for bad luck if anybody brake a mirrow, it's brings 7 years for bad luck.

If you forgot something at home, come back at home, took the thing, then you should look in the mirror and smile.

If you see a women with empty buckets it's for good luck,but if you see a women or a men with full bucket it's for bad luck.

If on a table you find two knifes,but not two forks you marry two times.

If a burd fly into your window it's to the disease and for bad luck.

If in your soup fly a hit,wait for a gift.

You shouldn't eat from a knife,because in a future you can have a bad wife or a bad hasnow.

Some of the bones of a black cat can make you happy and even invisible.

Falling leaves in the autumn to luck. Every caught leaf means- one month of happiness.

The biggest part of people hate black cats but they wery sweet and harmless

Do not smear garbage from the table with your hand - to the lack of money. 

Cut yourself -to poverty.

To wash an apartment in the evening is to wash away happiness from home.

Do not wash the floor, starting with the threshold. 

Before you leave the house, you can not sew anything, drop your keys and come back - there will be no roads. 

Since the protection of the house is considered a threshold, you can not give anything or take it through it.

Keep in the house peacock feathers or a bouquet of reeds - to the collapse of the family.

If you believe in bad superstitions In my opinion also then you will not refuse from 13 salaries.

Russians believe in the evil eye, the so-called bad look. This especially applies to children and newborns. What is most interesting - in order to avoid this, we, the naive Belarussian people, need only knock on the tree - and the trouble is supposed to bypass the party. But for foreigners, the comparison of Russians - "if there is no tree, you can knock on the head", explaining that "the effect will be the same" seems very funny!

In some places, the birch planted near the house, protects it from lightning and is a mandatory attribute of the birth of the baby in the house. In others, birch was forbidden to be planted near the house, because of its "weeping" branches - a symbol of sadness, and because lightning often strikes it.

Some busnessmens believe in this superstitions:

• Successful negotiations need to be "washed" so that luck does not disappear.
• Money tree in the office - to the financial well-being of the company. Bad sign - if it starts to hurt or disappear
• Money under the rug at the entrance to the office (or apartment) - attract money
• Left palate itches with money, right to meeting

The first money earned in a day is worth stroking the goods or blowing on them - attract customers

• The superstitions about burds:
  If the bird has flown into the house, to the news.
• The bird flew into the house through the open window and flew out-a message would come by the letter.
• If a bird that has flown into the house, holds a blade of grass or something else in its beak, it is a sign of a good event that will happen in the near future. 
• If the bird is still there, then she can leave something from the food, thus appeasing.
• Wallpapers with images of birds - to loneliness.
• The bird hovers over the house or flies around - someone will get very sick.
• The bird soars - beware of betrayal, especially if the bird is predatory.
• Birds suddenly change the direction of the flight - the danger is approaching the observer.
• Birds fly in front of you from left to right - a sign of luck.
  

Superstition gives a person the necessary confidence in their abilities and a sense of security. According to scientists, superstitions have a kind of soothing effect, if a person believes that this thing or action will help him, then it certainly helps. Faith has an incredible power of impact on people. But if the results of this or that event largely depend on luck, then faith and superstition here do not affect anything.

Superstitions in Belarus

  There are a lot of superstitions in our life. Even if you don't believe in them, you will surprise Belarusians if you show you know some of their superstitions. I want to say that modern man does not believe in superstitions, and if he does, in a very small degree. I collected a few surprising, at first glance, superstitions of Belarusian people. And - we offer to your attention!

GOOD MANNERS

What is the difference between a well-mannered person and an ill-mannered one? In fact, a good breeding is seen in everything: speech, behaviour, gestures, clothes and appearance in general. Though nowadays etiquette is often considered as something boring and old-fashioned, people with good manners will always stand out in a crowd. Good manners are always based on a deep respect to other people, ability to choose relevant words and actions in different situations, to be tactful and polite. To my mind, there are several most important distinctive characteristics of really well-mannered people.

TRAFFIC RULES

The first thing you notice when you come to Belarus is that they drive on the right-hand side of the road.

HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL DAYS

All countries have their holidays and special days. There are some of Belarus holidays:

• New Year.

Every Belarussian person looks forward this holiday. In the beginning of December they decorate their houses ahd New Year's trees, buy presents for each other. 2 days before New Year's Day they buy products for New Year's dinner. People usually celebrate this holiday at home but sometimes visit any event.

On New Year's Day people speak, eat and drink, give presents, make New Year's Resolutions, watch New Year's films, listen to the President's New Year's Message.In the morning of the first of January childen open their presents that brought them Ded Moroz.

• Maslenitsa

Maslenitsa is celebrated on the week before Lent. All week people make and eat pancakes. It's a holiday when people "say Goodbuy" to winter. They make effigies of winter and burn them.

On Sunday people say "Sorry" to all their relatives and friends for all the bad things that they did for them. And they answer them "God will forgive".

• Kupalle

Kupalle is celebrated on the night between 6 and 7 of Jule. People make bonfires and jump over it. It look likes a purification of evil spirits.

Girls make wreaths of wild flowers. At night they lower them to the water. In the morning of 7 July girls look at the wreaths: if it stayed on the water, it will bring a lucky.
